Recruitment Market Update
Fox Resourcing brings you a recruitment market update, covering:
- Recruitment Intention rates.
- Employers’ changes to aid recruitment.
- Employment rates.
- Hiring activity.
- How we can help here at Fox.
Recruitment intentions statistics:
According to the latest data, recruitment intentions are still above pre-pandemic levels. Not only are they still above pre-pandemic levels but they appear to be on an upwards Journey, with 74% of employers stating they are planning to take on new staff in the next quarter. This is great for those looking to change jobs/careers due to the cost-of-living crisis.
Although recruitment intention percentages are high, candidate shortage difficulties remain with 45% saying they have hard-to-fill vacancies. 44% of employers have managed to overcome their hiring difficulties by increasing salaries, 27% of employers are anticipating raising pay in future to address candidate shortage.
On a positive note, companies are also looking to take other avenues to tackle the staffing challenges. One being making jobs more flexible by 38% of employers, these changes will hopefully aid recruitment.
Hiring activity:
Job vacancies have risen to a new record of 1,295,000, an increase of 33,700 from the previous quarter. Feb to April 2022 saw all industries rise above their Jan to March 2020 pre-pandemic levels. This chart shows the increase in overall active job adverts since the beginning of 2022 up until May 2022.
